Queenswood Engagement

Project Summary

Queenswood Engagement manages the stakeholder engagement of some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects including HS2. With the onset of the recent pandemic, Queenswood needed to develop a virtual engagement strategy to support its clients. WeAssemble worked with Queenswood’s product team to develop a groundbreaking digital concept called the ‘Virtual Exhibition’ or Virtual Room. This product was an interactive virtual space modeled on the real world spaces normally used to engage stakeholders.

WeAssemble created a design, Front End and Back End Development team to deliver this product, working closely with the product leads both from Queenswood and their respective clients.

  • Construction
  • 12 months
  • 4
  • M.E.R.N.

Application Functionality

  • The application creates virtual rooms replacing the need to hold physical exhibitions.
  • Users can experience the exhibition by viewing 360° around the room using either mouse or keyboard.
  • A realtime chat enables users to get their queries answered quickly.
  • Video player inside the TV, Image gallery, planning maps and feedback forms within the virtual room adds significantly to the user experience.

Solution

WeAssemble set up an offshore development team which coordinated with the 3D designer and the client’s product manager to realise the virtual room the way the client envisioned. The offshore development team continues to maintain the virtual room and create multiple versions of it.

Results

Queenswood engagement proudly owns one of its kind virtual room setup. It uses this virtual room for all of its client’s virtual exhibitions. The cost of these virtual rooms are a fraction of the costs carried out for real exhibitions and the information presented in the virtual exhibitions are easier to comprehend.

Client Review

At Queenswood Engagement we work with some of the major infrastructure projects in the UK, with stakeholders from the UK government down to local action groups that we need to engage. Construction is an industry with a lag in going digital and we are keen to be part of the push to digital native solutions. WeAssemble are, to put it in one word, useful. They have helped us build new teams and develop new products with a simplicity and effectiveness.

We are happy to have found a competent partner for our development projects in WeAssemble.
